Project overview
Set within South Woodford, this private residential project is a full-home refurbishment and extension, transforming the property into a bright, contemporary family home with a calm, crafted interior.
The design brings together natural oak, black-framed glazing, engineered timber flooring and carefully detailed bespoke joinery to create a warm and cohesive living environment. From the kitchen and utility areas to the staircase, media wall, alcove joinery, bathroom and garden-facing extension, the project is defined by a complete approach to the home rather than one individual room.
A key part of the story is the balance between traditional residential character and modern architectural detailing — herringbone flooring, fluted oak, book matched timber, Crittall-style doors and large garden-facing glazing all working together to create a home that feels both elegant and highly liveable.
Scope of works
Atelier Vero delivered a substantial refurbishment package across the property, including the rear extension, engineered flooring, full smart electrical system, bespoke kitchen, worktops, appliances, utility room furniture, bathroom refurbishment, vanity unit, staircase works, internal glazed doors and external bifold French doors opening onto the garden.
The bespoke joinery package includes fluted oak alcove units, book matched oak TV media joinery, integrated storage and carefully coordinated feature furniture throughout the living spaces. The oak detailing adds warmth and texture, while the black-framed Crittall-style doors and garden glazing introduce a stronger architectural contrast.
The project required close coordination across multiple trades and finishes, bringing together joinery, flooring, glazing, electrical works, bathroom finishes, kitchen installation and staircase detailing into one complete refurbishment. The result is a highly personal family home where craftsmanship, practicality and architectural detail are carried consistently through every part of the interior.
